A thick slice of a felled Acacia tree, abandoned in a parking lot in Brugge, was transformed into a
coffee table.

The wood was dried for over a year before the bark was removed and a table carefully sculpted along the lines of the circumference of the tree trunk counting 101 rings.

The top side of the table was leveled, while the underside was rounded and made voluminous, sanded into shape and finished off with coats of beeswax. A crack was stitched with a polished steel bowtie.

Acacia is the hardest tree that grows on the European continent.
