| SULING |

SULING is embodied in two vertical island structures connected by a horizontal landscape. The sculpture spatialises the connection between the islands and the seabed from which they rise, and presents a common ground that is shared by every Suling. The sculpture invites visitors to linger, embrace and integrate the surroundings in a new way.

The slate from the roof of the old school is saved and used for the foundation of the artwork. Manifesting the foundation of learning and Solund's future, the kids each painted a slate. This local anchoring nurtures a sense of belonging, to the school and the archipelago.
